ch sailed for the Cape about the middleof December was provided with a special, conjunction with Dr. Hall-Edwards, Radio-grapher to the General Hospital, Birming-ham, for Field Work Hospitals, RailwayCompanies and others requiring to carrythe apparatus from one place to another. This handy form of apparatus has beenadopted by several of the hospital shipsand I hear that the war office have orderedseveral for special service on the field. A10 coil contained in a strong iron-boundcase weighs less than 25 lbs. The Lancet of December 23d containsan interesting contribution from Sir Wil-liam MacCormac from the seat of war. Hedescribes the excellent arrangements atthe base hospital at Wynberg, eight milesfrom Capetown. A SDecial room is setapart for x-ray work. Sir William speakshighly of the work of this department, anddeclares it to be fitted with the most mod-ern apparatus.
