Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ancient track and waymark stone. This is on the moor a couple of miles North from Hutton-le-Hole.

It's easy to make out the line of a very ancient route over the moor here, which at this point runs alongside the modern road.

There are records in Northallerton describing a sum of money allocated to set up stone guide posts including this one in the early 1700s.
