Description |
Deutsch: Nach dem Tod des beliebten Kölner Armenarztes und Arbeiterführers Andreas Gottschalck wollte sein Freund Heinrich Hölscher eine kleine Broschüre über Gottschalck herausgeben, musste aber feststellen, dass es kein geeignetes Porträt des Geehrten gab. Er bat also den Kampfgefährten und Maler Wilhelm Kleinenbroich (Köln 1814 - 1895 ebd.), "den lieben Todten nach .... Zeichnungen und aus der Erinnerung in Öl" zu malen. "Wie sein Gemälde gelungen, darüber bloß eine Stimme: ohne Kleinenbroichs Arbeit wäre es mit dem Portrait nichts gewesen." |
