English: An old map of Paris.
Beautiful monumental plan of Paris, illustrating the expansion works of Baron Haussmann. This plan, published in 1861, is among the very first plans of modern Paris. The first edition dates from 1858. The present edition of 1861 has been revised and updated by the architect Alfred Potiquet. Paris is divided into twenty arrondissements. These were created in 1859, when the suburbs located between the fortifications of the enclosure of Thiers and the wall of the Farmers General were annexed to Paris. Each district, water colored in one color, is divided into 4 districts. The boulevards proposed by Haussmann are indicated as yellow and green roads on the map, cutting through the plan of the ancient city.
