It is a useless waste of time andenergy to allow the cord to remain in the instrument for severalminutes as some operators advocate. The quicker the cord isreleased the less the pain and the quicker the blood will clotabout mouth of artery. By the time the jaws of the emasculatorhave come together the instrument has done all for the cord thatit can possibly do. Why procrastinate in removing it ? By reference to Fig. 16 you will observe the correct positionof the emasculator on cord; also exactly what structures aresevered.
