The Great White Maine. When we introduced this variety severa years ago we little realized what a hold it would take on the American public. This is the fourth year which we have sold it, and never yet have we had enough Oats to fill all orders. Two years ago we returned, after we were sold out, over $500 in cash, and last year, after selling several thousand bushels, we returned or refused orders for $1,000 worth more. This year has treated the Oat crop as it has many other farm products, and the Oats in nearly every State in the Union were never such a poor crop as in 1894. We natter ourselves that we have probably the finest crop of Oats that will be offered for the season's planting of 1895. The Great White Maine Oat is a branching Oat, short, stiff straw, and two Oats grow in each chaff, which accounts for its great pro- ducing power. We have raised on our own farm from one field of 13 acres, with no manure and ordinary cultivation, 9^/4 BUSHELS PER ACRE. We have also raised on a 4-acre field, without manure or fertilizer, 406 bushels of re-cleaned Oats, or ioij4 BUSHELS PER ACRE. We advise all intending to purchase to place their order early.
