English: Roy Hallums tells his experience as a hostage in Iraq to students of the Dynamics of International Terrorism course May 15 at the Camp Foster Theater. Hallums was working as a master labor contractor in Iraq when he was kidnapped by Iraqi insurgents in November 2004 and was held captive for 11 months before being rescued. As part of the DIT course, Hallums is one of several guest speakers with first-hand experience of terrorist events to share their stories with the students. The personal accounts provided a more personal perception of terrorist activity. The DIT course, offered by U.S. Air Force Special Operations School, educates service members and master labor contractors on the fundamentals of local and global terrorism and raise awareness. |
