Apród utca in 1945 after the siege of Budapest

| Description |
English: Apród utca from Szarvas tér in 1945 with a tram stop. The buildings are all ruined: 7 Apród utca, a Late Baroque house on the corner of the square is unrecognizable, 5 Apród utca, a large block of flats is half destroyed but its rear wing remains almost intact. Both buildings were soon demolished but the birthplace of Ignác Semmelweis and Várkert Bazár (behind) were later restored.
Magyar: Az Apród utca a Szarvas tér felől 1945-ben a villamos megállójával. Az épületek mind romosak: a késő barokk Apród utca 7. számú sarokház szinte felismerhetetlen, az Apród utca 5. számú nagy bérház félig leomlott, de a hátsó szárnya szinte ép. Hamarosan mindkettőt lebontották, de Semmelweis Ignác szülőháza és a Várkert Bazár (mögötte) megmenekült. |
