Case No. 14655 (Fig. 7)—Mrs.S. M. W., 69 years of age. AdmittedOctober 18, 1920. Diagnosis: Carcinoma of the leftlobe of the thyroid. Her family history was negative. Personal History: She was operatedupon in 1910 following trauma of theright tibia. At 35 years of age shehad a double o-ophorectomy per-formed. Present Illness: June, 1919, shenoticed a swelling in the left side ofthe neck in the region of the thyroid.It gradually grew until in October,1920, it was the size of the first. Thenpain developed behind the left ear andalong the ulnar side of the left hand,involving the ring and little fingers.
