Summary
[edit]DescriptionArchway, Orlock - geograph.org.uk - 1402189.jpg |
English: Archway, Orlock Part of the National Trust path around Orlock follows a nineteenth century coach road which, I think, was originally created for the residents of nearby Portavo. Halfway along the route you encounter this stone arch which was hewn out of the rock by hand - some chisel marks can still be seen in the rock. Recently there has been a small rockfall and the NT has erected scaffolding and screens to protect walkers from possible injury. See http://www.walkni.com/Walk.aspx?ID=352 for further details. |
