Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ault Hucknall Church - 1 The Church of St John the Baptist sits next to only a couple of houses which make up Ault Hucknall, making it reputedly the smallest village in England. It is thought that it was once a much larger community and that the Black Death devastated the village. An alternative theory is that Bess of Hardwick moved the residents because their dwellings ruined the views from Hardwick Park. The church itself is Saxon in origin and is Grade I listed.
