Summary[edit]

Description

Auricularia Bull.

Image location: Wilson River Primitive Reserve, New South Wales, Australia

I was unable to examine this fungi as it was beyond my reach and fairly high up in the tree on the trunk. From my obs it seemed to have a semi-translucent cap(top) and the underside appears to have a wavy characteristic in the body. It also seems to me that it was not a woody fungi. I lean toward it being in the Jelly group of fungi, although the texture appeared to be less jelly like. I really do not have any reference that looks remotely like it, except for an example in Bruce Fuhrer’s book under the title of “Peziza whitei.”

Recognized by sight: A. delicata’s a good guess, but just in case…
