Undeletion requests for Rock Against Racism 40th anniversary flyer reverse.jpg and Rock Against Racism 40th anniversary flyer.jpg[edit]

Hi - you have deleted the above files stating that I did not provide adequate evidence of ownership such as an e-mail ownership statement or linking to an online source. I did fill in your online e-mail template, stating that i am the owner/creator of these images. I am the designer who created them. Since they are posters, it is not possible to link to an online source with credits. Other than the statement provided - using your own template! - I cannot provide another source. I have requested undeletions but following this up. Thanks.

  • Hello, if the flyers have been used for the event "40th anniversary of the Rock Against Racism Northern Carnival" then a person representing the oraganization of this event must send a permission to our permission system OTRS. A publication here include the authorisation of commercial reuse, see com:Licensing. This is done in order to protect the rights of the copyright holder, even if it is you. Indeed otherwise anyone can come and say " I'm the copyright holder...", we delete daily hundreds of images uploaded by fans who says they are copyright holder. Hope this help. File:Austroboletus occidentalis Watling 878530.jpg[edit]

Dear Christian,

I have been looking for a free image of A. occidentalis and someone finally uploaded an image above on June 6, 2018. Can you 1. review the image above and 2. restore this deleted category please Category:Austroboletus occidentalis as an Admin? Hopefully the taxanomic data is still there. The image is so so...but its in focus and clear and better than nothing. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 00:36, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

Can you can also review this image below since there are almost no other images in its category.

Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 01:15, 15 June 2018 (UTC)--Leoboudv (talk) 01:15, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

  • PS: This image would be a great image to upload to Commons since there are few other images in its category
  • This link: http://mushroomobserver.org/image/index_image?by=image_quality&q=Ool3 that I mentioned is actually very powerful because I checked it and at least the first 350 pages features images rated 'Great' on MO. And each page has 18 images. And it is updated to 2018. That was how I managed to find this image on page 348 but I won't upload it although there are not many images in its category but you can if you wish. I hope...this helps. Some of the 'Great' images have been uploaded to Commons but others have been clearly missed. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 01:28, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
  • ✓  Done I reviewed your images and restored the category. Thanks for the links I will check those pages soon. Christian Ferrer (talk) 04:31, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

Archive talkpage messages[edit]

Dear Christian,

Do you know how I could archive the first 60 messages on my talkpage. They are quite old and date to 2008-2011. I want to call the messages 'Archive 1.' Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 23:38, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Leoboudv: you'd have to create User talk:Leoboudv/Archive 1 and copypaste it, or use User:ArchiverBot or some other archiver script. I can create the archive for you if you want? - Alexis Jazz ping plz 00:37, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

Thank You Alexis I will try this method now. It will explain why I have this feature on my wikipedia account but not here since I last did this in May 2014 on wikipedia. I have forgotten! I never did archive any messages on Wikicommons and so I'm stuck with messages from 2008 on my talkpage. Thank for your help. --Leoboudv (talk) 00:41, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

@Leoboudv: you seem to be making quite some typos, more than usual. Maybe because you are currently working on a device you're not used to, maybe because you're tired, maybe because you're a little tipsy, maybe some other reason. I don't know (I have some suspicions but may be wrong anyway) but I'm just saying you should get some rest if you need it. For the archive, the archive link isn't very visible so you may want to consider using {{Archive box}}. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 01:00, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
  • No. The REAL problem is that I have to replace my Microsoft keyboard since some of the letters are getting faded on it after almost 2 years of use. As for my talkpage, I created a second empty talkpage archive if I need to archive messages again. I don't drink so there is no chance of me getting tipsy. The only people who may be a bit tipsy are the Spanish who are [probably] crying their eyes out...wondering why Cristiano Ronaldo scored 3 goals to deny Spain a win over Portugal in a 3-3 FIFA World Cup football game. As a Canadian, I'm neutral here. Thanks for your help again Alexis . --Leoboudv (talk) 01:11, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
@Leoboudv: well you are used to your not-worn-out Microsoft keyboard but currently using your worn-out Microsoft keyboard, so I'd count that as a device you're not used to/comfortable with. Face-tongue.svg which was my first guess anyway! Face-wink.svg When it comes to football, I only root for the women - Dutch you know. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 02:14, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
  • OK. Thanks for your input here. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 03:38, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
  • Personally, usually I archive manually the messages older than 1 week, each of my archives cover 2 months. Your messages on the mushroom pictures make my discussion page more alive, usually used mostly by various BOTs or by people who complain after the deletion, made by me, of their uploads. Christian Ferrer (talk) 05:11, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

3 images[edit]

Dear Christian,

If you have time, please consider reviewing these 3 images below.

Wikicommons has no Stemonaria longa images--at all and I found these from the 'list' I mentioned above--while Wikicommons has very few images of Cronartium_quercuum

You can test the multi-lingual template. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 18:36, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

  • Thanks for your help here. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 19:05, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

  • ✓  Done I reviewed your images and made available all the 3 templates as multi-lingual. Christian Ferrer (talk) 04:57, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
  • Thanks for all your help here Christian. Have a good Sunday. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 05:03, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
@Leoboudv: One question, do you think it can be useful/interesting to have categories for the Mushroom users, example I made a test on File:Saproamanita praeclara 865693.jpg. Look at the categories at bottom you will see a red category which is automatically added Images from Mushroom Observer by Liz Popich (Lizzie). it is a just code line in the template, and if I add it to {{MushroomObserverUser}} then all the images where this template is transcluded will have a similar category according to the username. But in the extend that the categories don't still exist, the result will be 10000 files with a red link. What do you think? Christian Ferrer (talk) 05:09, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
The advantage is that if we do that then once Images from Mushroom Observer by Liz Popich (Lizzie) is created, so the result is all the images by Liz that have the template will be automatically categorized without a single click. Christian Ferrer (talk) 05:14, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
  • I think that maybe this category can be avoided because there are many many photographers on MO and this would create a new problem of cataloguing all their images in a specific category. The important thing is giving them attribution for their photos...and this Commons already does. Secondly, many MO photographers don't even know their images are on Commons...due to MO's unique license. Many contributors would be angry if they saw their images here...in a single category. It might be better not to stir a hornets nest. --Leoboudv (talk) 05:19, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
  • Ok fine, no problem, I will not do it, thanks you Christian Ferrer (talk) 05:22, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
  • With flickr the default license is ARR and the copyright owner has to deliberately change the license to a free version. This is not the case with MO since Nathan Wilson designed it to be wikipedia-friendly. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 05:25, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
