English: AWM Caption: GAZA, PALESTINE. 1942-12-22. ON THIS DAY GENERAL SIR HAROLD R.L.G. ALEXANDER, KCB, CSI, DSO, MC, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, MIDDLE EAST FORCES, INSPECTED A PARADE OF THE WHOLE OF THE 9TH AUSTRALIAN DIVISION AT GAZA AIRPORT AND PRAISED AND THANKED THEM FOR THEIR PART IN THE BATTLE OF EL ALAMEIN. TROOPS OF THE 20TH AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY BRIGADE IN THE MARCH PAST.
