Notes The sitter, born Khevenhüller, was a lady in wating to Empress Eleonor Gonzaga (1630-1686). The portrait is almost identical with portraits of Marie Louise Gonzaga, Queen of Poland, considered as ideal beauty of the time, it is hence possible that the sitter was intentionally modelled on Polish Queen's pose and costume.
