Title
Awl
Description
English: A complete bronze awl or tracer, measuring 54mm in length with a maximum width of 5.5mm and a maximum thickness of 4.5mm. One terminal is pointed, but blunt and the other is chisel shaped and relatively rounded. The pointed half of this awl has a rounded to sub-square cross-section. It also has a central groove along one face, from c8mm from the tip up to the flattened broad face of the chisel ended half. The chisel half of the awl is rectangular in cross-section.

This awl/tracer is most likely to be Bronze Age in date and interestingly it was found about 400m away from a Bronze Age spearhead tip (LXD 043).
