Title
Awl
Description
English: A complete bronze tracer/awl, measuring 81mm in length, 5mm in width and thickness. It is slightly bent at the chisel end which has a sub-rectangular cross-section with slightly bevelled edges. The chisel end is irregular and rounded and appears unlikely to have been functional though the present condition may result from use wear or damage. The pointed end, though slightly rounded, is quite sharp and has a slightly facetted sub-circular cross-section. Only small patches of the original surface survive and are patinated dark green. The majority of the surface has been lost, revealing a medium green slightly corroded surface. This awl is Bronze Age in date.
