Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Aylesbury Arm - Looking along the canal from Black Jacks Lock (No 4). The canal is now getting down to the level of the Vale of Aylesbury - and it can be seen how flat the landscape is. Before the Ice Age the Vale was actually the valley occupied by the River Thames, but the River was diverted south of the Chiltern Hills by the ice. There is a slight bend in the canal - but beyond the bend the Aylesbury Arm 1228440 is remarkably strait.
