Summary[edit]

Description
English: Aylsham North railway station - goods yard and shed The site of the former Aylsham North goods yard is bisected by Banningham Road. This is the view from its eastern edge towards the goods shed on the other side of the road. Aylsham North railway station was a station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line which linked the Midlands with the Norfolk Coast. Opened by the Eastern and Midlands Railway, it became a Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway station, converted to a joint operation of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway with the London and North Eastern Railway taking sole operation in 1936. The station was finally closed in 1959 and demolished shortly afterwards. Part of the site of the former goods yard now serves as a car park for the Weavers Way long distance footpath. The only surviving building is the goods shed > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1290527 which is located on the edge of the Aylsham Industrial Estate, on the other side of Banningham Road.
