| Description |
Montepulciano es una ciudad renacentista de gran interés que está situada en el centro de Toscana, al sur de la provincia de Siena. Se alza sobre una colina con una bellísima posición panorámica, a 605 metros de altura sobre el nivel del mar. La zona goza de reconocimiento internacional a causa de sus extraordinarios vinos tintos, siendo el Vino Nobile de Montepulciano el de mayor fama. De hecho, hay muchas buenas bodegas donde degustar los vinos locales, acompañados de excelentes productos gastronómicos lugareños. Piazza Grande: Es una plaza monumental que, entre otros edificios, alberga la espléndida sede del Ayuntamiento. De estilo gótico, se construyó en el siglo XIII. En el siglo XV, el arquitecto Michelozzo la remodela y le añade una gran torre. Desde lo alto se dominan los valles de Orcia y Trasimeno, así como la localidad de Radicofani. |
