Notes
  • Significance: Huffman Bridge is made of four trusses: three 203' Parkers divided into nine panels and one 150' Pratt divided into nine panels. These 203' Parkers are the longest in North Carolina. The combined length of these riveted trusses is 759'. The difference in lengths of the two truss types in this bridge indicate the spanning capabilities of each. The close lace work of the vertical members is characteristic of the bridges built by the Carolina Steel and Iron Company during this period.
  • Survey number: HAER NC-31
  • Building/structure dates: 1920-1929 Initial Construction
