VIEW OF THE FINE AND COMMODIOUS STATION AT OLNEY, ILLINOIS This station building was erected in 1901, the old depot being destroyed by fire. Ail the office work is done inthis station, but freight is received and delivered at the freight house opposite. The office force consists of fourclerks in addition to the agent, R. F. .lones.

30 Austin F. Duffy Named Manager of SafetySection of Railroad Administrationas Successor to the LateHiram W. Belnap NNOUNCEMENT was madeabout the middle of January of theappointment of Austin F. Duffyas manager of the Safety Section,Division of Operations, United StatesRailroad Administration. He succeedsthe late Hiram W. Belnap, whose deathfrom influenza was a shock to the rail-road world. Since the death of Mr. Belnap, Mr.Duffy has been acting manager of thesection and had entered into the workof promulgating SAFETY propagandawith much interest. He stated in a speechbefore the Advisory Committee of theSafety Section, which was printed in theJanuary issue of the Employes Maga^zine,that there must be no relaxation in theefforts to disseminate the benefits ofSAFETY. The appointment of Mr. Duffy placesin charge of the Federal SAFETY worka man who has had wide and variedexperience in this very necessary de-partment.
