Guide passage plates are then bolted to a face plate or jig which is grooved to provide proper radius forturbine wheel clearance and give proper curvature to steam nozzle. Jig permits eight of these units to be turned in one operation. Where guide passagesare worn out, they are discarded, but many units are reclaimed. Where this is done, average cost of reclaiming complete is $.50; cost new $4.88. Whennew guide passages are required $1.69 each must be added. 15. Reclamation of governor arms is simple. Small pieces of scrap material are shaped and riveted to prong of arm as shown.
