Summary
[edit]DescriptionBarkston Heath - geograph.org.uk - 208762.jpg |
English: Barkston Heath. This was the route of Heath Lane before the Heath was turned into an RAF base. This explains why Heath Lane leaves the east side Ermine Street further north in SK9741 and not where it joins it in SK9740. Opened in 1941, RAF Barkston Heath is as a Relief Landing Ground for the flying training at RAF Cranwell. The Flying Training School operates 18 Mk II Firefly two seat trainers.
