Summary[edit]

Description
English: Barton Turn Lock, Staffordshire. On the Trent and Mersey Canal, Lock No 10 lowers the water level here by 5ft 8in (1.72 metres). A good pub is off the picture to the right in what was the Roman Ryknild Street, now a little back street since the A38 was diverted behind the buildings, and widened. With a posh pub opening in the marina nearby, one wonders about the future of the little pub by the lock. 1503647
