Description
Türkçe: "Hamam-ı Kebir ve Patrona Halil Hamamı olarak da bilinen ve İstanbul’un en gösterişli hamamlarından biri olan Bayezit Hamamı, Sultan İkinci Bayezit tarafından 1501-1506 yıllarında Bayezit Külliyesi’nin bir parçası olarak yaptırıldı. İnşasında birçok Roma ve Bizans kalıntısının devşirme malzeme olarak kullanıldığı hamam, İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi’nin yanında yer alır; erkekler girişi eski Divan Yolu olan Ordu Caddesi’nde, kadınlar girişi ise Hasan Paşa Medresesi’nin yanındadır. 1930’lara kadar hamam olarak hizmet veren ve daha sonra depo olarak kullanılan yapı, zaman içerisinde oldukça hasar gördü. 2005’te İstanbul Üniversitesi tarafından başlatılan

restorasyon çalışmaları tamamlanınca yapının sergi salonuna dönüştürülmesi planlanmaktadır."
