Summary
[edit]DescriptionBeach re-arrangement - geograph.org.uk - 612798.jpg |
English: Beach re-arrangement This outwash fan of gravel was created the day before this photo was taken as a combination of a spring tide, a storm surge and strong northerly winds caused the sea to overtop the shingle ridge. The water levels on the marshes are much higher than usual and the inundation of seawater will cause serious problems for the previously fresh marshes by killing plants and animals - after a similar event in 1996 the productivity of the marshes was depressed for several years. |
