English: Beccles Common and Boney's Island A view of Beccles Common taken from the car park. The wooded area on the horizon (the highest point on the common) is known as Boney's Island because a large bonfire was built there in 1814 to celebrate peace after the Napoleonic Wars. The small building to the right end of Boney's Island is the Clubhouse of Beccles Golf Club. |
