Thousands of pages of literature have also been mailedto other teachers in schools of all grades. The Secretary has given a number ofpublic lectures before representative gatherings in the state. A force of exactly 324 Bird - Lore loo wardens ha? been employed, on fees or salary, to enforce the bird and Ciameprotective laws. These officers have distributed literature, posted warning-notices, and bv their activity have prevented much illegal killing of wild birdsand animals. Especial attention has been given to the enforcement of the lawsjiroviding close seasons for the killing of Quail, Wild Turkeys and Robins.The breeding colonies of sea birds have also been carefully guarded. Manyarrests have been made for violations of the game laws, and in 163 cases the de-fendants were convicted. The Society does not receive any revenue from this
