The Audubon Societies 23s meetings, and planning for bird-studyand bird-protection. Only workers can bein this class, and the members themselvesmade a rule that three unexcused absencesfrom meetings cause one to lose his orher membership. During the past winter we studiedhabits and characteristics of birds, sothat as the spring came we might appre-ciate and help them. Our meetings areheld once a week after school at the school-house, and once a month in the eveningat the home of a member. Miss Eddy, three distinct Junior Audubon classeshave been organized in School No. 11 inthat city; and they now have a combinedmembership of more than one hundredpupils. Meetings are held regularly, in whichbird-charts are kept, recording the timeand place of birds first seen. Familycharacteristics are studied; also the habits,nests, food, etc., of individual birds, withparticular stress on their usefulness. Waysand means of attracting bird-neighborsare discussed.
