English: Birth place of John Campbell Birth place of John Campbell, 1st Baron Campbell 1779-1861
One of Cupar's sons who made it to the top. He moved to London and trained in law at Lincoln's Inn and was called to the Bar in 1806 aged 27. From there he worked his way up through the system to become Lord Chancellor in 1859 a post he retained until his death aged 82 in 1861. Taken from Short Lane and neatly framed by a classic lamppost, one of Cupar's finest. |
