English: Black fungus on fallen birch, Dyrham Wood (1) These bodies are about an inch (25mm) long. The following information was kindly provided by a fellow contributor: 'Looks like Daldinia concentrica (aka Cramp Balls, King Alfred's Cakes or Coal Fungus). Common species on fallen wood, fruiting year-round.'
