Summary[edit]
DescriptionBleeding Yew Trees, Nevern - geograph.org.uk - 29469.jpg |
English: Bleeding Yew Trees, Nevern. The site is visited by Christian and Pagan pilgrims alike. The Christian story goes that the tree bleeds every year in sympathy with Christ. For the Pagan folk the tree is an embodiment of the Great Mother Goddess in her Virgin aspect. The beautiful tree, still a youngster for its species, has a recessed orifice in its bark which reminds one of female genitalia and it exudes a small amount of dark red thick fluid or resin. |
