Description
English: Folio 55r from the w:en:Codex Mendoza. [Last folio of this section, misbound out of position between fols. 52 and 53. The 17th-century foliation indicates the right order, but only after correction.] Tribute from the Province of Oxitipan ("Where Oxitl is Used"). A single town listed (though no doubt with its own subject towns), yielding: (every six months) 2,000 large white mantas, 400 multi-coloured striped mantas of four brazas long, 400 multi-coloured striped mantas of two brazas long; (annually) 400 loads of dried chiles, and 1, 2, or more live eagles. The page of Spanish description facing this page (fol. 54v) ends 'fin de la parte segunda.' ('End of the second part.'). Shelfmark: MS. Arch. Selden. A. 1
