Description
English: Folio 68r from the w:en:Codex Mendoza. Scenes in the lives of adult males: (1) (From the left) Five youths of the telpochcalli sit as guests at a leave-taking banquet given by their companion (centre right), who has just married a woman skilled at spinning. (2) The Lord of Mexico (left) promotes young men after their marriage to the rank of tequihua, seasoned warriors and emissaries. (3) A court of justice: four judges sit on ceremonial chairs, each backed by his junior, all eight wearing the blue diadems of nobility. On the right, three men and three women kneel to seek justice Shelfmark: MS. Arch. Selden. A. 1
