Summary
[edit]DescriptionBorrow-dyke reconstruction, Hadleigh Marshes - geograph.org.uk - 1548555.jpg |
English: Borrow-dyke reconstruction, Hadleigh Marshes This is the early stage of the borrow-dyke reconstruction. The new bund on the right will form the inner flank of the new sea wall. The old borrow-dyke between this and the old sea wall has been filled with rubbish. However, before the old borrow-dyke was filled, the beginnings of a new one was dug, and the water in the old borrow-dyke partly drained into it. The rubbish between the two bunds has not yet been capped, and some is blowing into the new dyke. This is the stage here. Eventually, the new borrow-dyke will be extended and, a year later, it will look like 1519302. To cap the rubbish, the soil is 'borrowed' from the new dyke area.
