SISKIN.. 541 the lower half of each feather is yellow, the upperbinxk : the exterior coverts of the wings are black :the two middle feathers of the tail are black •, thereft above half way are of a mod lovely yellow,with black tips. The colors of the female are pa-ler : her throat and fides are white fpotted withbrown -, the head and back are of a greenifh aflacolor, marked alfo with brown. Mr. Willughhy tells us, that this is a fong bird rthat in Sujfex it is called the barley-bird^ becaufe itcomes to them in barley-feed time. We are inform-ed that it vifics thcie iflands at very uncertaintimes, like the grofbeak, &c. It is to be met within the bird fhops in London, and being rather afcarce bird, fells at a higher price than the mericof its fong deferves : it is known there by the nameof the Aberdavine.
