Description
English: Broch, Borgue, Caithness

The photo shows the stairs which have been exposed on the northern side of the broch.

From the OS Name Book of 1871-1873 , "With the exception of Dùn Beath, this is the finest specimen of a Pictish dwelling in this part of the country. It consists of a conical shaped mound, built of large stones, the walls being partly covered with soil overgrown with rich pasture. The summit has been partly broken open, & its stones utilised for building purposes, it contains an inner chamber, the entrance to which is at the north east side. It is about 12 feet high and 40 broad, its base is surrounded by very large stones all mossed and lichened over."
