Text Appearing Before Image:
It can be understood that tlie practical value of the test depends as much upon the care with which the blood is collect-ed and the interpretation placed upon results, as the actualprocedures in the laboratory. There are many features that the clinician must constantlykeep in mind prominent among them being the fact that it hasbeen unquestionably proven (18) that blood serum from un--doubted syphilitic patients that are not undergoing any treat-ment will vary in its powers to react by the complement fixa-tion test and this variance uiay range anywhere from a nega-tive reaction to a strongly double plus within a period of a fewdays. It must likewise be remembered that the blood of personsgiving a negative result may react strongly double plus afterreceiving a treatment with salvarsan providing the case is oneof syphilis. (7 page 28). The circular of directions accompanying each outfit readsas follows: 760 Bissell: The Wasserman Test DIRECTIONS FOR COLLECTING BLOOD FORTHE WASSERMAN TEST
