The illustrations herewith given are of leg splints only, andthey are the only ones kept constantly in reserve; but in fracturesof the arm, forearm and femur (in the last, only where consoli-dation is advanced) ; in immobilization of joints for inflammatoryand tubercular conditions and after excision of joints, reductionof dislocations and in other joint injuries, the employment ofsplints of the same kind in appropriate shapes has been practical-ly invariable. Lay oneof the crinoline shapes on a table and rub plaster of Paris wellinto its meshes. Lay on it exactly another crinoline shape andrub its meshes full.
