Atropin in die Leibeshöhlo injiziert. sekretorische Tätigkeit durch das Atropin verringert wird. Diese Unterschiede in der Wirkung sind möglicherweise in der Eigen- tümlichkeit des Nervensystems der Küchenschaben begründet. Ähnlich wie bei den Versuchen mit Nikotin zeigte es sich, daß die Wirkung des Atropins längere Zeit (bis zu einigen Tagen) an- hält. Man konnte annehmen, daß das Alkaloid längere Zeit hindurch in dem Organismus verbleibt Um mich davon zu überzeugen, in- jizierte ich eine Anzahl von Küchenschaben per anum mit Atro- pin (8° 0) und bewahrte diese längere Zeit auf. Nach einer Woche wurde der Darmkanal herauspräpariert, zerrieben, mit absolutem Alkohol ausgezogen, filtriert und dem Filtrat ein Tropfen Salzsäure hinzugefügt. Nachdem die Flüssigkeit bis zur Trockenheit auf dem Wasserbade abgedampft war, löste ich die trockene Substanz in ein wenig destilliertem Wasser und führte einige Tropfen von dieser Flüssigkeit in den Konjunktivalsack einer Katze ein. Nach zehn bis fünfzehn Minuten trat eine sehr deutliche lang anhaltende Erweite- rung der Pupille ein, welche unzweifelhaft auf die Gegenwart von Atropin in der Flüssigkeit schließen ließ.
