NOTE: Engravings, etchings, photogravures, or any image where information would be lost, or the frame is integral part of the original postcard, document etc., DO NOT NEED their borders cropped; a cropped image of this type generally will violate the original artistic intent of the image, which includes the paper surrounding it. Especially images with {{Border is intentional}} should be not overwritten. If it is desirable to have a cropped version for specific uses, this should be uploaded as a separate file, and linked back to the original. This can be requested by using {{Extract image}} instead. If the file is a photo of an artwork in perspective and with context (a physical frame, a place where the work is located etc.), use {{Extract image}} for request for a detailed image or a flat copy. Any text from the border should be included in the image description. If the border contains author and license information, this may also be embedded in the file itself and the tag, {{Metadata from image}}, should be added. If cropping a JPEG, it is generally preferable to use a lossless cropping tool. You can use CropTool on this file, which supports lossless cropping (more info). For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück, Zelle
Zentralbild Zühlsdorf 12.8.1959 Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Buchenwald vor der Vollendung. Die Bauarbeiten an der Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück, die auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Frauenkonzentrationslagers zur Erinnerung an die 92.000 von der SS ermordeten Frauen und Kinder entsteht, stehen vor dem Abschluß. Am 12. September, dem Tag der Opfer des Faschismus, wird die auf Beschluß der Tausende von Frauen aus dem Bezirken Potsdam und Neubrandenburg sowie Frauendelegationen aus zahlreichen europäischen Staaten werden zu den Einweihungsfeierlichkeiten erwartet.
