| Description |
English: Traditional Cajun house, photographed at the Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park in Lafayette, Louisiana. As the name suggests, it is an open air museum dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the region, namely the Cajun Country. The setup consists of a series of preserved buildings showing the traditional architecture and customs of the Cajun people in Louisiana. Most interestingly, actual Cajun senior people are around the place doing traditional activities such as weaving wool, playing fiddle and woodcarving and they are more than happy to spend some time explaining the small details of their lives and culture to visitors. An enriching experience and a significant part of our trip through Louisiana.
Taken with a Nikon D90 and a Tamron 12-24 at its widest. The settings were f/11, 1/250s and ISO 200. Later massaged through Lightroom 3 for some cropping, local exposure adjustements and slight desaturation of colours for a more classic look. |
