Ελληνικά: Παράδειγμα δοκιμαστικού εκτύπωσης για ασπρόμαυρο αρνητικό: ο φωτογράφος δοκιμάζει διαφορετικούς χρόνους εκτύπωσης (η κάθε λωρίδα έχει διαφορετικό χρόνο έκθεσης, όσο αυξάνει ο χρόνος έκθεσης η εικόνα σκουραίνει). Στο συγκεκριμένο παράδειγμα ο επιθυμητότερος χρόνος εκτύπωσης είναι ο χρόνος της 3ης λωρίδα από κάτω. Η επιλογή του χρόνου εκτύπωσης γίνεται με κριτήριο μέσα στην φωτογραφία να υπάρχει το απόλυτο μαύρο, το λευκό και όσο δυνατόν περισσότεροι ενδιάμεσοι τόνοι γκρι. |
