| Description |
English: Chief Petty Officers from USS Wasp, four other Navy war ships, one Coast Guard Cutter, and senior enlisted from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked on Wasp, observe evening colors at a dinner reception at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club hosted by the Miami CPO Association, April 26. The Miami CPOA offered the dinner as an opportunity to show appreciation to their operational counterparts while providing some good food and fun. Wasp is currently serving as the flagship for Navy Week Port Everglades, April 25-29, one of
several War of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration events slated to take place up and down the East Coast of the United States over the next three years. The commemoration is a salute to all sailors and Marines who fought gallantly in that conflict, who have served in our nations' conflicts since then, and who are defending freedom around the world today. |
