| Description |
English: Calverley & Rodley railway station (site), Yorkshire Opened in 1847 on the Midland Railway's line from Leeds to Bradford Forster Square, this station closed to passengers in 1965 and completely in 1968. View north west towards Apperley Bridge and Bradford, also Keighley. The station used to have four platforms (see SE2237 : Calverley & Rodley Station, with a St Pancras to Bradford express on its last leg from Leeds) with a second pair of tracks to the left. Now, no trace apparently remains except for the widened road bridge abutments that used to carry the station building, from where the image was taken, and the former goods shed immediately behind the camera position. |
