The Yellow Warbler or Summer Yellowbird is a beau-tiful, little, golden sprite that we are sure to find flittingabout in clumps of willows or alders that overhang almostany brook. We often find them, too, in orchards for theytake very kindly to civilization. Its song is a simple littleditty, cher-wee, cher-wee, swee- swee, very similar to thatof the Chestnut-sided Warbler and the Redstart. Yellow Warblers weave very pretty little homes of plant JJO

It was located neir a cot-ton mill and the outside of the nests was composed entirelyof snow-white cotton, the inside being lined with the usualhorsehair. 221 As far as mv observations go, these warblers seem to beimposed on by Cowbirds more than any other unless it bethe Chestnut-sided. The percentage of nests containingthese obnoxious eggs is quite large and the resulting mor-tality due to the over-crowding of the nest, is also quitelarge among the little Yellow Warblers.
