Rumor of British Government Control ofCheese Unsettles Market Threatened Strike of Coopers in Montreal Warehouses Results inCheese Shipments Being Refused. THE cheese market during the week,particularly the last half, was in avery unsettled state. A threatenedstrike of coopers in Montreal warehousescaused the railway companies to send outnotices to their agents that cheese ship-ments should not be accepted until fur-ther notice. There are rumors in thetrade that the British Government in-tends to again control the importationas well as the sale of cheese in England.Advices on this point have been very con-tradictory but some cabled orders havebeen cancelled because of the possibilityof control being resumed.
