[edit]DescriptionCapitol Carillonneur (14115208616).jpg |
Jim Saenger, the Capitol’s Carillonneur, has perhaps one of the most unique and least visible jobs on the Hill. His contractual agreement with the Architect of the Capitol, directed by the 1963 Senate Concurrent Resolution 25, states that he must annually play the Taft Carillon on July Fourth at 2 p.m. The Robert A. Taft Memorial and Carillon is located north of the Capitol, on Constitution Avenue between New Jersey Avenue and First Street, N.W. It honors Senator Taft from Ohio who served in the Senate from 1938-1953. More: www.aoc.gov/capitol-grounds/robert-taft-memorial-and-cari... |
