Summary[edit]

Description
English: Carman Reservoir In the foreground is a footpath that leads around the reservoir and towards Cardross Road. This body of water was formerly known as Carman Loch (it is located at the foot of Carman Hill). It was later used to supply water to Renton; the water supply was formally turned on by Alexander Wylie on the 16th of October, 1886, the occasion being marked by a concert held beside the reservoir [see pages 71, 74, 89, and 121 of "Renton Between the Wars" (2007) by the late Jim Murphy].
